The Coolum Community Native Nursery was established in November 2005 to grow coastal native and salt tolerant plant species. Due to the early success and growth of the nursery, a new purpose built facility was built by Lend Lease and opened to the public in early 2008. The nursery came about with the assistance of Lend Lease, Coolum District Coast Care Group, Greening Australia Queensland, Maroochy Catchment Centre, Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Yaroomba Progress Association.
