Coolum Bridge Club

Coolum Bridge Club celebrated its 15th birthday on the first Friday in May. Celebration of the club’s birthday is typical of the nature of our members. Our aim is to target a niche market where the social aspect of our game is paramount. This dare-to-be-different approach manifests itself through many aspects of the club’s operation:-
- Like most Queensland clubs, it is owned by the members
- We were a social club well before becoming affiliated to the QBA and ABF
- Shorter sessions – 3.5 hours
- Less frantic playing speed
- Relaxed directors!
- High ratio of couples within the club
- High ratio of players who belong to no other bridge club
- Zero tolerance of unacceptable behaviour
- A mid-week “Invitation Day” is our biggest event of the year
- We have no “Joining Fee” for new members
- Visitors pay just $1 extra in table fees
- Visitors are welcome at every club session – there are no closed sessions
- Prior entry for events is not required – pairs just turn up
- No entry fee for the club championship – and no prize money either
Our membership list boasts several interstate and overseas members! They enjoy a winter sojourn on the Sunshine Coast with local partners. Some even play with their spouse – an event that would never happen at "home".
